Sleeping In

This is one of those faux-posts where, out of bloggy guilt, I apologize for not ponying up a real post. You see, I slept in this morning. I giggle as I write this because, well, I slept until 6:58am and once upon a time, that decidedly did not qualify as sleeping in. Oh well. Times seem to have changed. Anyway, I would like to thank Husband and my darling girls for letting me linger in bed a bit longer than usual. And I would like to thank you for understanding that I could not quite peel my body out of bed this morning early enough to properly contemplate the cosmos.

- In your home, what does it mean to “sleep in”?
- Do you think that sleep is one of the biggest departments of change once you become a parent?
- How much sleep do you get?
- How much sleep do you need?
- Do you feel guilty constantly about most everything?
- Do you ever whip up pseudo-posts to apologize for a lack of a real post or am I the only one?

This morning, my kids lets me sleep in until 6:30. Oh, the lazy life of a stay-at-home mom!
Enjoy your rest – growing another human being is HARD work, and you need all the sleep you can get!
I love sleeping in – and that means at least until 9:00 am. I’ve trained all my kids to sleep in too. And, then if they get up, they have everything they need for a little cereal and some milk and know not to wake me up. I’m selfish like that.
The very latest Ryan and I sleep in over here is 9:00am. EVER. We often take turns letting each other “sleep in.” That usually means 7:30 or so.
I need a lot of sleep. But no, I do not get a lot of sleep. Hardly ever. I’m a ridiculously light sleeper.
I wish I were Cathy
I’m glad you got to “sleep in”
Yep, ever since the little man arrived I think the latest I’ve slept is 8:30 and wow, what a huge treat that is!
But oh lordy. The bigger question is what time do you NORMALLY get up? And what time do you normally write/post? I just started a blog and so far, I can only write/post on my days off. I am scared the reality is I have to get up even earlier to write. Big sigh.
I LOVE to sleep in – until 10:00 or 10:30 if I can! I blame it on not being able to sleep in as a teenager: my dad always thought I should be up by 8:00. Sometimes I would get up, eat a bowl of cereal, then make an excuse about doing some homework, but actually slink back to bed!
Clearly, I don’t have kids. This is my biggest fear with having kids: lack of sleep!
I probably get less sleep than most people. I tend to go to bed around 1:30-2 am and wake up between 5:30-6.
Unless I am working as a guest poster I don’t worry about blogging for anyone else. I post when I want to and don’t worry about what others think.
If people like my blog they’ll read it and if they don’t it won’t matter if I miss a day.
I like to sleep in sometimes, but I am so geared to wake up early that I feel like the day is wasted when I wake up late. Hope you enjoyed sleeping in.
This post makes me chuckle (in a good way). First off, love the leopard! Secondly, 19 years into it, “sleeping in” is still anything after 7:30 a.m. Even if I went to sleep at 4 a.m.
And on those very rare occasions when the kids aren’t here or even weekends when they sleep until noon? I still wake – at 6 or 7.
Maybe I need one of those cool leopard blinders? Ooooo. Better idea… leopard heels. With maribou.
