“Take rest; a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.”
Ovid
Starting today, I am all about rest, relaxation, and family. (Oh, and the leak in our brand new kitchen. Arghhhhh.) I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. See you Tuesday!

It’s a holiday weekend? Oops. (By the way, when you can, find Gale @ Ten Dollar Thoughts post on the importance of lying fallow. It’s wonderful.)
Enjoy your rest!
Starting on Monday before a weekend that I am particularly excited about where we have no set plans, I begin a list adding to it as the work days roll along. I put down anything I want to make sure I do; take a walk, go watch the sunset, take Emma to the park, get in bed early one night to read, etc. I also put down nagging tasks I have wanted to work on; clean and declutter for example, but I give these tasks a time limit. This way I feel a sense of peace knowing I’m going to take care of business but that I just have to take that slot of time from the wide open weekend to do it. It doesn’t feel like a chore then but something that I want to do to keep our lives rolling along optimally.
By keeping this running list when Friday night is upon me and I’m settled on the couch with a glass of wine, I have a sense of a full, relaxing fun-filled weekend ahead – not one with a lot of time wasted saying “I don’t know,…what do you want to do?”
Good for you. I ran 20 miles today and at 1:29 I’m reading this post from bed. I’m getting better at rest and love it. Here’s to a bountiful crop or at least bountiful energy.
Lauren ran 20 miles today. heh.
I did not.
I need to find rest…these days it’s all painting and building and tiling and painting and writing and painting some more.
I think I’ll find some time to just BE this weekend. Thank you
I hope your weekend is peaceful and leak-free.
It’s Sunday morning and I’m reading blogs, what does that say about me?
Happy long weekend, even if we are midway through it!
Hope you had an enjoyable long weekend Aidan!
That photo is stunning. But the quote, even more so.
