You take notes. Real ones. Imaginary ones. You pay attention. Notice things. Connect dots. Your aim, if unconscious, is to better understand yourself, the world. Your goal, if hazy, is to prepare yourself, to stockpile information, to grow.

But one day, if you are lucky, you will wake up and it will hit you: You know absolutely nothing. All those notes, all those dots, all those aims and goals. They are there to make you feel better, stronger, more in control.

The truth is that you know nothing. And knowing this? It is wisdom. So embrace it.

Easier said than done, no?

Speaking of wisdom, Husband and I watched Andrew Zuckerman's wonderful 2008 documentary Wisdom on a recent Friday night after the girls went to bed. Food for thought indeed.

What is wisdom? Do you agree with Socrates that wisdom consists in knowing how little we know? Have you seen any good documentaries lately?
